'People are afraid' - why 'unstoppable force' Arsenal are the team to beat.

The evidence is undeniable why Arsenal have become numerous fans' favorites to claim the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have defeated all of them this time around, but dropped 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race previously.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's defensive strength is a key reason why they are appearing strong to at last realize their title target.

They stand first for shutouts (6), shots let in (3), opposition efforts (72), quality opportunities against (19) and xGA (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but competing clubs still find it difficult to contain the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just wary of them and it is great to see."

Championship Pedigree

What is especially notable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the outset, having invested around £250m on eight summer additions in pursuit of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in remarkable manner, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and possessing the tightest defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Unbreached games in three straight Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and pundits have characterized Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now functioning with conviction and determination.
