The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
